NFL combine: 4 first-round Texans targets to watch

The 2024 NFL scouting combine is officially upon us.

Over the next week, the entire NFL Extended Universe will descend on Indianapolis where teams and front offices will have extensive opportunity to examine and meet this year’s crop of prospects for the 2024 NFL draft.

The Houston Texans are no different. They’ll be hoping to follow up a highly successful 2023 class that included C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson, Tank Dell, Juice Scruggs and Jarrett Patterson. A huge part of that work will begin in earnest on Wednesday with player workouts and interviews.

The team has preached that they need to improve the front seven of their defense and also has noticeable needs at wide receiver and cornerback. After three drafts from general manager Nick Caserio, it’s also becoming easier to predict what types of players the Texans may target in Round 1.

With that said, here are four players to watch at the NFL combine who very well could be potential Round 1 selections for Houston.
