The Chiefs are currently scheduled to make one pick on Friday evening: 64 in the second round.

[7:12 PM] In typical fashion the Raiders took a player I was high on. Jackson Power-Johnson from Oregon is a physical mauler in the run game. He is athletic when getting to the second level and should give the Raiders a dose of nasty play on the inside. (Caleb James)

[7:08 PM] Finally making a pick on Day 2 after a big trade back early Friday evening, the Cardinals followed up the first-round selections of Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr and Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson with Rutgers cornerback Max Melton. In a crowded class at his position, Melton does differentiate himself with a knack for playmaking on the ball and as a tackler (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[7:02 PM] The Texans are looking to add to their secondary going with Kamari Lassister from Georgia. Lassiter plays like a missile and looks to rough up receivers off the ball. Solid pick for a team needing to bolster the secondary. The run on corners is in full swing. (Caleb James)

[6:59 PM] At 41, New Orleans followed Philadelphia’s lead at trading up for a first-round prospect at cornerback: the Saints picked Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama. He is arguably the cleanest press-coverage corner in the draft; that defensive backfield has a lot of talent in the Bayou (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:57 PM] Eagles great Brandon Graham announced the selection of Cooper DeJean from Iowa as they attempt to load up their secondary. DeJean can play all over the field and could find himself playing corner or safety in the NFL. The Eagles went with Quinyon Mitchell in the first round, and now they have another solid corner prospect with DeJean. (Caleb James)

[6:53 PM] Trades all over the place!! The Eagles have jumped to 40, and the Saints have moved up to 41. The run on defensive tackles has started and it looks like both of these teams might think they need to get their guy. (Caleb James)

[6:50 PM] The Rams moved up and have their first big investment at defensive tackle after the retirement of Aaron Donald: Braden Fiske from Florida State. He deserves to go this high; he has all the penetrating, pass-rush skills as an interior defender — but can win with leverage in the run game. He’s going to be a long-time NFL player. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:47] The Titans are going large in the 2024 Draft class. T’Vondre Sweat drew headlines a few weeks ago for being arrested for a DWI, and many speculated his draft stock would plummet. Clearly, the Titans are willing to take on the risk, and if Sweat can figure it out he will be a dominant defensive tackle in the NFL. (Caleb James)

[6:43] TRADE!!! Rams will pick at 39 after the Titans. (Caleb James)

[6:39 PM] At 37, the Patriots gave rookie quarterback Drake Maye a very solid, reliable weapon in Washington wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk. I compared him to Juju Smith-Schuster leading into the draft, just strong in a lot of different ways — but won’t be overly fast or shifty in space (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:35 PM] Well just like that more draft crushes die. Newton was one of my favorite prospects in this draft class and I feel like this could be the steal of the draft so far. I had Newton as my number one defensive tackle and I will stand by that. He was a top-20 talent in this draft class. Washington is going to be nasty along the defensive line next year. (Caleb James)

[6:30 PM] Washington is on the clock right now, but the pick of Orhorhoro over Newton, Fiske, and Jenkins is a little stunning. Not sure what is going on in Atlanta. (Caleb James)

[6:27 PM] Stunner. The league must really have a problem with the medical evaluation of Newton’s foot. The Falcons selected Clemson defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro at 35 instead. He is nowhere near the prospect Newton is. I cannot be less of a fan of this selection. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:25 PM] The Atlanta Falcons followed the Chargers’ lead and made a trade-up themselves: coming all the way from pick 43 to pick 35 in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:22 PM] Draft crushes die fast. McConkey was a player who I thought could be on the Chiefs’ radar for some time, and I even wrote him up for the website. Seeing him to to a divisional rival stinks, but we will see if McConkey is ready for a corner like Trent McDuffie… (Caleb James)

[6:19 PM] The Los Angeles Chargers make a move right after Buffalo’s pick! They moved up three spots in a deal with the New England Patriots. They addressed offensive line in the first round, they have to give quarterback Justin Herbert a wide receiver here. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[6:17 PM] The Bills go with Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman. A former college basketball player, Coleman is a physical and athletic wideout who was a contested catch nightmare. He has work to do as a route runner, but Coleman should end up being a good target for Josh Allen to go to. (Caleb James)

[6:14 PM] If the Bills ended up with Johnny Newton here I would be distraught. (Caleb James)

[6:10 PM] The most surprising player still on the board is definitely Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean — but I really didn’t think defensive tackle Johnny Newton from Illinois would fall this far. I know my guy Caleb agrees. Someone is getting a great value soon. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[5:59 PM] Round 2 is going to start off with a very interesting pick in Chiefs Kingdom: the Buffalo Bills sit at 33, the result of a second trade back after dealing pick 28 to Kansas City. Look for one of the wide receivers to go off the board here; I bet it’s Texas’ AD Mitchell. Josh Allen loves chucking it deep, and parted ways with both Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs this offseason. (Ron Kopp Jr.)

[5:59 PM] We’re about to kick off round two here shortly. Buffalo is on the clock. I think they will go with a wide receiver but would also be on the lookout for a defensive back or a center. Jackson Powers-Johnson would make sense here if they go center. Kool-Aid McKinstry is still on the board as well for the cornerback unit. The Bills have options here. (Caleb James)
