Is Taliese Fuaga ready to make multiple starts for the New York Jets in 2024?

While the possibility of drafting Brock Bowers or a wide receiver is exciting, the New York Jets’ safest option in the first round might be to take an offensive tackle. Their depth chart at the position needs strengthening while the two starting spots are unfilled beyond the 2024 season.

The question is, which one do they take?

When evaluating tackle prospects, one of the Jets’ primary goals will be to find someone who is capable of stepping right in as a quality backup for Tyron Smith, who is likely to miss games this year. Their current backups are Max Mitchell and Carter Warren, which is not ideal for a team that is trying to pursue a Super Bowl in 2024.

On top of that, the Jets need someone who can develop into a long-term solution at tackle since neither Smith nor Moses is under contract beyond the upcoming season.

Luckily for New York, the 2024 offensive tackle class is considered strong. Five offensive tackles are considered near-locks to be taken in the first round. Of these prospects, the one most commonly linked to the Jets might be Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga.
