NFL opening lines for Week 5, Packers named road favorites

The Green Bay Packers open up as road favorites against the Bengals, even though Cincinnati has extended rest.

DraftKings released their opening lines for Week 5 tonight and, unsurprisingly, named the 3-1 Green Bay Packers as road favorites against the 3-1 Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday. Despite the fact that the Bengals are coming off of an extended rest after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, the Packers are 3.5-point favorites going into the matchup.

The total, set at 49.5 points, means the book roughly projects a 26.5-23 final with Green Bay coming away as the victors. The Packers’ money line (-190) suggests an implied probability that the Packers win 65.5 percent of the time against Cincinnati. The first quarter spread favors the Packers by one point in the opening period of the game.

At the moment, Green Bay is one of three teams that are road favorites this week, with the others being the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints. Unlike the other two squads, though, the Packers are the only team favored by more than a single point on the road.
