Our staff makes their Week 2 picks and tries not to overreact to opening week.

Week 2 of the NFL is always fun, because there’s an intense overreaction to Week 1. We all clung to our offseason preconceived notions about every single team in the NFL, and as soon as the games kicked off last Sunday, that was all thrown out the window. The Packers are terrible! Josh Allen sucks again! Jameis Winston is the next coming of Drew Brees!

And so, last week’s winners are suddenly viewed in an entirely different way, while the losers are somehow much worse than we all anticipated. I’m looking at you, NFC North.

Week 2 will likely cause a significant amount of flow in the other direction after all is said and done, but it’s clear that the Pride of Detroit staff was at least partially impacted by last week’s games. For example, after the Saints crushed the Packers, all of us have them beating the the Panthers. After the Bengals beat the Vikings in overtime, over half of our staff has them beating their second consecutive NFC North team in the 0-1 Bears.

That being said, no one is buying the Texans after their convincing Week 1 victory.

And when it comes to the Detroit Lions’ “Monday Night Football” matchup for the Green Bay Packers… well, you’re going to have to wait on that one.

But before we get into all of the picks, a congratulations is in order. Andrew Kato led the way in our staff with an impressive 12-4 record last week, placing himself in the top three of all Tallysight pickers. Hamza Baccouche also went an impressive 10-6 against the spread.

Here are our picks for Week 2 of the NFL:
