It’s Border Battle time again

Coming off of a thrilling victory on Monday Night Football in Week 7, the Minnesota Vikings now turn their attention to another division rival, as they’ll make their annual trip to Lambeau Field in Week 8 to take on the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings are riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Chicago and San Francisco in back-to-back weeks, raising their record to 3-4 on the season. The Packers are currently on a three-game losing streak, having dropped games to Detroit, Las Vegas, and Denver during that stretch.

These two teams split their games last season, with the Vikings taking down the Packers in the season opener at U.S. Bank Stadium by a score of 23-7 and Green Bay blowing out Minnesota at Lambeau Field in Week 17, 41-17.

This will be the first game of the post-Aaron Rodgers era between these two teams, as the Packers will start Jordan Love at quarterback. Love has struggled quite a bit this season and now gets a good look at Brian Flores’ high-pressure defense. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins is among the league leaders in passing yardage and passing touchdowns after the first seven weeks of the season. This will be the Vikings’ third of a minimum of four games without star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who is still on injured reserve nursing his hamstring injury back to health.

The early line for this one shows the Packers as a slight home favorite, as the opening line from the folks at the DraftKings Sportsbook has Green Bay at -1.

This game will be kicking off at noon Central time on the FOX family of networks.
