Week 7 wasn’t good for Las Vegas’ divisional rivals

The Las Vegas Raiders are starting their bye week, so we don’t have a Week 8 opponent to get to know.

However, it’s a good time to check out the rest of the AFC West after Week 7. And it was a wasn’t a good week for the Raiders’ division foes.

The rest of the AFC West went 0-2. The Los Angeles Chargers, 4-2, had their bye, but the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs both took it on the chin.

The Broncos lost Thursday night at the Cleveland Browns, 17-14. Then the Chiefs were drubbed Sunday in a 27-3 loss at the Tennessee Titans. The Broncos have now lost four straight games after starting the season 3-0. Denver appears lost on offense and is banged up on defense. Frankly, Denver looks cooked and coach Vic Fangio may be on the hot seat.

The Chiefs, though, are also in panic mode. They have been uneven all season and look out of whack on both sides of the ball. It may be too early to count out the two-time defending AFC Super Bowl team, but at 3-4, the Chiefs — who visit Las Vegas Nov. 14 — look like they may be in trouble.

Now, it’s the Raiders’ turn to relax and watch Week 8 as the Chargers host the New England Patriots, the Broncos host the Washington Football Team, and on Monday night, the Chiefs host the New York Giants. The Raiders will be interested in that game as they play at the Giants in Week 9 before hosting the Chiefs the next week.
