Casual Friday open thread: Pets!

Let’s talk about our very good pets.

Welcome to Casual Friday, the open thread where we discuss topics outside of the Seattle Seahawks. Yes, we’re continuing this into the actual season, a change from the past few years where it just got us through the offseason.

Chances are at some point in your life you’ve had a pet, and many of you surely have pets right now. Dogs! Cats! Fish! Gerbils! Snakes?! Yeah sure, snakes. I’m just not coming to your house unless it’s a garden snake. Same with tarantulas.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had any pets but I’ve been tasked with caring for others’ pets, including a couple of stints as a dog walker and making sure an outdoor cat could go in and out of the house as he so desired. Occasionally this cat would come to my front door with his catch of the day.

I’m partial to aquariums, and I was fascinated by algae eaters (plecostomus) as a kid, mainly because of their sucker-shaped mouths.
