Chase Claypool appeared in nine games and caught four passes while with the Miami Dolphins.

The Miami Dolphins signed three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday and the Buffalo Bills countered by announcing the signing of Chase Claypool.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears wide receiver joined the Dolphins in a midseason trade last season. Claypool appeared in nine games with Miami, catching four of seven targets. He’s signing with Buffalo on a one-year deal.

Claypool, 25, met with the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the offseason and was added to the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ exclusive list. The former Notre Dame receiver kicked down the doors with 973 receiving yards and nine touchdowns his rookie season, but he’s only found the end zone four times over the last three seasons.

He joins a Buffalo receiving core that includes Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Khalil Shakir, and rookie second-round pick Keon Coleman.

Meanwhile, Beckham joins a unit headlined by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Miami ranked second last season with an average of 261 passing yards per game while Buffalo was No. 10 at 238 passing yards per game.
