Raider Nation thinks there were plenty of draft steals

We’re still in draft mode and we spent this week’s Tuesday Community Question by asking our great community members who was their favorite Day 3 pick by the Las Vegas Raisers in last week’s 2024 NFL draft.

To recap, here are the five players the Raiders selected on Day 3 (rounds 4-7):

  • Mississippi State cornerback Decamerion Richardson
  • Ohio State linebacker Tommy Eichenberg.
  • New Hampshire running back Dylan Laube.
  • Air Force safety Trey Taylor.
  • Pittsburgh cornerback MJ Devonshire.

By the varied responses, it is clear the Raider Nation is fired up about these late-round choices by new Las Vegas general manager Tom Telesco.

All Saturday picks got some love. This could be a fun class to watch develop.

Here are some of your responses:

Easy, Trey Taylor.

Decamerion Richardson, he has the size and speed and is a very good tackler, he needs to improve his coverage skills and IMO, can be a top CB in 3 years

All of 3rd day picks were good, best draft since 2014.

Eichenberg. He’s the kind of downhill, run stopping LB the team needs. Could he be better in coverage? Of course, but that’s not (at least initially) what he was brought here to do.
He’s here to plug gaps and get runners down on likely run plays so we can get other teams into long down and distance situations (think 2nd & 8, 3rd & 7, etc.). You’ll never rush the passer effectively unless you stop the run first. Our run defense should be good for the first time in a long time with this guy at the second level and Wilkins up front as the anchor.

E had an elite 3 cone grade, and the quickness translates to film from what I’ve seen. Even with the blitz, he was very effective. He’s also my fav, but love the overall physical attributes of the DB’s in general as well as the scatback.

Unlike most of these guys, Laube should see the field from day one and contribute, as a returner and special teamer. Not sexy, but very useful.

Louis Riddick seemed to really like Devonshire and DJ had a 5th round grade on him. With our big need there I hope he is the guy.
But I really think they all have a decent chance of making the team.
