It’s the Cooper Rush show

You probably saw it when we posted the inactive lists for tonight just a short time ago, but the week’s biggest drama has officially reached its conclusion.

Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys’ star quarterback, has been deactivated by the Cowboys leading up to Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium this evening.

Prescott suffered a calf strain in the Cowboys’ victory over New England in Week 6, and even the bye week wasn’t enough to get the Cowboys’ training staff completely comfortable with starting him tonight against Minnesota.

That means that Cooper Rush will get his first NFL start this evening. Rush is in his fourth season in the league and has thrown just three passes, completing one for two yards, and has not thrown a pass in a regular-season game since his rookie year of 2017.

It looks like the Vikings’ run defense is going to have to have their big boy pants on tonight, as I’d expect Mike McCarthy to feature a heavy dose of Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard against a Minnesota defense that will once again be without Michael Pierce.

Once again, Dak Prescott is inactive for the Cowboys for tonight’s game against the Vikings, giving Cooper Rush his first NFL start tonight on Sunday Night Football.
