Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs continues to pick up awards.

This time last week the Dallas Cowboys saw their top cornerback Trevon Diggs receive a nice bouquet of roses from the NFL. Diggs was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for September and many people wondered whether or not his game would slow down after such a fast start to 2021. Diggs entered the game against the Carolina Panthers with an interception in each of his first three games, and all he did was get two more against the Panthers to increase his season total to five.

We have discussed how Diggs’ interception numbers will likely decrease, but that isn’t what this moment is about. Right now we are celebrating Diggs because he is again being honored, this time as the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Diggs currently leads the NFL in interceptions with five through four games and the impact that he is having on the defense extends well beyond that. Dallas finally has a lockdown corner that they can depend on playing the outside, and a guy they can match up with the opposition’s #1 receiver.
