Dolphins star safety Jevon Holland enters concussion protocol

But one day after, Miami’s starting free safety still felt the after-effects of the collision — forcing the team to place Holland in concussion protocol.</p> <p id="YhYbJ4"></p> <p id="7hfMA3">During Monday’s press conference, head coach Mike McDaniel shed some light on what happened on Sunday night and what transpired the following morning. Here’s what McDaniel said about Holland.</p> <p id="sAUiOP"></p> <p id="2Mtbpx"><em>“He was cleared in the game, which is why he went back, by the UNC into the game. And then the standard procedure for that is the following day, you have a follow-up,” McDaniel said. “In that, he did report symptoms, so he will be in the concussion protocol, which is something that we’ll work through and just worry about him getting healthy.”</em></p> <p id="7WPUiA"></p> <p id="fZUiyG">The Dolphins are, unfortunately, no strangers to head injuries. Tua Tagovailoa suffered at least two concussions a season ago, one that forced him to miss the final few weeks of the season and the team’s playoff game vs. Buffalo. There’s no guarantee Holland will miss any time with his head injury, but considering the Dolphins have been in the spotlight with these types of things before, they will surely be safer than sorry. </p> <p id="V9Q4PG"></p> <div id="6siLCD"><div style="max-width: 660px"><div style="left: 0;width: 100%;height: 175px;position: relative"></div></div></div> <p id="EUDu75"></p> <p id="9cOQX0">Holland is critical to Vic Fangio’s defense and would be impossible for Miami to replace.
