Drake Maye, who was selected third overall by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft, has a fan in the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Appearing on a Bleacher Report draft show on Thursday night, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud said that he believes Maye to be the most NFL-ready passer available this year.

“I feel like Drake Maye is [the most NFL-ready],” Stroud said.

“You watch his tape, just his arm talent jumps off. He’s one guy — to me, the one mistake that I made early on in just the first couple of games, I moved around too much, I didn’t get the ball out on time, I started taking risks that weren’t even downfield or necessarily scrambling. When you watch his tape, he scrambles when he needs to, he throws guys open, he has roll-out ability, different arm angles. So, I like Drake Maye.”

Stroud was drafted with the second overall pick by the Texans last spring, and quickly burst onto the scene as one of the better young QBs in the league. The Patriots hope Maye can do the same.
