Garrett Bradbury OUT for Sunday vs Ravens due to COVID

He tested positive, but he is vaccinated

When the Minnesota Vikings face off against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium, there’s going to be a different look to the interior of the offensive line because of COVID-19.

The Vikings have declared center Garrett Bradbury as OUT for Sunday’s game in Baltimore because he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Bradbury is fully vaccinated, and in fact was photographed receiving the vaccine as a part of the team’s promotional efforts earlier this year. Because he’s fully vaccinated, he could return after getting two negative tests, but because there isn’t enough time between now and the time the Vikings depart for Baltimore, he is not going to be able to get two negative tests before the team leaves. Because of that, the team has declared him as out as well as placed him on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.

At this point it’s being widely assumed that Mason Cole, who started 14 games at center for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, will get the call at center in Bradbury’s place. And, in something that will certainly make everybody happy, this means that Dakota Dozier will likely be called up to the main roster for Sunday as a COVID-19 replacement. Dozier has used his two standard “elevations” already this season, but can be brought up as a COVID-19 replacement, which he would be designated in this case. Dozier has gotten some work at center and you’ve already stopped reading this because you’re annoyed at the thought of Dakota Dozier being back on the active roster again.

Bradbury has started every game at center for the Vikings since his rookie season of 2019, so it will be a bit unusual to see him not in the pivot this Sunday. Hopefully Mason Cole will be able to step in and perform well.
