Giving Props: Best player bets for the Minnesota Vikings against Chicago

Let’s do better than last week

With Monday Night Football nearly upon us, it’s time to take our weekly look at the prop bets being offered by our friends at the DraftKings Sportsbook for the Minnesota Vikings as they prepare to take on the Chicago Bears.

As we do every week, we will highlight three prop bets that we think can help you to increase your bankroll. Some weeks we do okay and some weeks. . .like last week. . .we don’t talk about too much. But, however it turns out, these are our selections for this week.

First Touchdown Scorer, Vikings

We tried to do this one last week and didn’t get it right, unfortunately. But that’s not going to stop us from giving it another shot this week. The Bears have had issues in their secondary all season and had to add cornerback Tyrique Stevenson to their injury report on Saturday. That could open things up for some of the Vikings’ receivers, so let’s call our shot with the team’s leading touchdown scorer for this season.

The play: Jordan Addison (+1000)

Joshua Dobbs, 236.5 passing yards: Over (-115) or Under (-115)

The last time these two teams faced off, it was a struggle on offense for the Vikings as Kirk Cousins threw for only 181 yards and a touchdown. Can Dobbs outdo that? I think so. Yes, the Vikings didn’t have Justin Jefferson the first time around, either, but Dobbs hasn’t had Jefferson since he became the Vikings’ starter so that’s not a factor. I think that Dobbs’ ability to keep plays alive will give him a chance to put up some yards through the air tonight.

The play: Over

Danielle Hunter, 0.75 sacks: Over (-135) or Under (+105)

Hunter came into this week tied for the NFL lead in sacks with Myles Garrett, and he got one of Fields the last time these two teams played. The Bears have had their struggles on the offensive line this year and Hunter has registered at least one sack in nine of the team’s 11 games this season. Between the Chicago offense not being terribly prolific and what should be a raucous home crowd, Hunter should be able to make Fields’ acquaintance at least once in this one.
