What’s changed since yesterday?

Heading into Sunday’s matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions have updated their injury reports after their Thursday practices. Let’s compare them to the reports from yesterday and see how these players are progressing. . .or, in some cases, not progressing.

As always, we start with the visitors.

Detroit Lions

Did Not Participate

  • OT Penei Sewell (ankle)

Limited Participation

  • DT Michael Brockers (shoulder)
  • LB Trey Flowers (knee)
  • TE T.J. Hockenson (knee, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)
  • RB D’Andre Swift (groin)
  • RB Jamaal Williams (hip)

Full Participation

No players listed

Only one change on the injury report for the Lions on Thursday, as tight end T.J. Hockenson practiced for the team today after sitting things out on Wednesday. Penei Sewell sat out his second practice in a row and Lions’ offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn said today that “right now” the Lions are preparing for Sewell to not play on Sunday. That means the Lions could be without their starting center and both of their starting tackles in this one against Danielle Hunter and company.

Now, we move on to the good guys.

Minnesota Vikings

Did Not Participate

  • RB Dalvin Cook (ankle)
  • DT Michael Pierce (elbow)
  • WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (toe)

Limited Participation

No players listed

Full Participation

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • CB Bashaud Breeland (illness)
  • CB Kris Boyd (hamstring)
  • S Camryn Bynum (abdomen)
  • K Greg Joseph (right hip)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (hip)
  • G Oli Udoh (neck)
  • LB Nick Vigil (ankle, upgrade from DNP on Wednesday)
  • WR Dede Westbrook (quadriceps)

The purple have only made one change to their injury report as well, as Nick Vigil returned to practice and participated fully after sitting out on Wednesday. Cook and Pierce continue to be out, and we’ll have to see if they’re game-time decisions or if they’re just declared out on Friday’s final report. Cook continues to insist that he’s going to continue playing through his ankle issue, but he doesn’t get the final say when it’s all said and done. We’re still not totally clear on the extent of Pierce’s injury, either.

Those are your interim injury reports for the Lions and Vikings, ladies and gentlemen. Final reports will come out tomorrow afternoon and we’ll have everyone’s status right here.
