Making sure you can follow along with today’s action

Ladies and gentlemen, it is nearly time for the Minnesota Vikings to take us on another roller coaster ride as we are just hours away from kickoff of their Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. We want to make sure that everybody is able to follow along with all of the action no matter where they are, so we’re putting all of that information in one place for ease of acquisition.

Television Info

Once again, we will be kicking things off in Charlotte at the best possible time for NFL action to get started, that being noon Central on Sunday. This game will be aired on FOX affiliates, meaning KSTP-9 in the Twin Cities, and the play-by-play will be handled by Kenny Albert and cheatin’ ass Jonathan Vilma. For those of you that are unsure of whether or not you’re in the broadcast area for this one, here is the map from the good folks at 506 Sports. The Vikings/Panthers game is shown in yellow.

If you’re using your DirecTV Sunday Ticket package to view this one, you’ll want to point the receiver to Channel 708.

For our men and women in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will be airing this one. . .eventually. They won’t be showing it live, but rather on a replay on AFN Sports 2. (Hey, it’s still more than what we got last week.) Kickoff of the AFN replay is scheduled for 0800Z on Monday morning, which works out to 0900L on Monday for viewers in Central Europe, 1000L on Monday for everyone on Arabian Standard Time, and 1600L on Monday for fans in Japan and Korea.

Radio Info

Once again, the Vikings Radio Network and all of its affiliates will be bringing you live broadcasts of every Vikings game for 2021. If you’re traveling around an area where there’s an affiliate or you just prefer the radio to the television, check out their site and find the affiliate in your area.

If you’re going to be using satellite radio, you can get this week’s game from either Sirius Channel 133 or XM Channel 383. Those channels will bring you the Vikings Radio Network feed. If you’re using the Sirius XM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is on Channel 820.

Referee Info

From this week’s list at Football Zebras, we can tell you that the officiating crew for this week’s game is lead by Craig Wrolstad. The Vikings last saw Wrolstad and his crew last October, as they handled the Vikings’ embarrassing 40-25 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Weather Info

Hey! An actual outdoor game! That means the weather might play a factor, but according to the forecast from our friends at WeatherNation, it should be a pretty near-perfect day for football. Temperatures at kickoff are forecast to be in the lower 60s with a slight warming trend throughout the afternoon and winds coming out of the northwest at around 10 miles an hour.

Streaming Info

Since this is a FOX game, you can watch this one on FOX Sports online by logging in with your TV provider credentials. You can also get the game on NFL GamePass, or by checking out a service such as Fubo TV.

As far as illegal streaming, I won’t belabor the point like I usually do. Don’t promote illegal streams here or you’ll be banned. Do not pass “Go,” do not collect $200.

Post-Game Info

Following the game, we will be offering not one, but two live post-game shows. Vikings Report with Drew and Ted will be offering up their live show with Drew, Ted, and Chris, while our friends from Climbing the Pocket will have a live post-game show for your viewing pleasure as well. The Vikings Report show will be on their YouTube channel and getting a post here with a video embed, while the Climbing the Pocket show will be on their YouTube channel as well as the Daily Norseman FaceBook page.

That should be pretty much everything you need in order to follow along with all of the action from the season-opening clash between the Carolina Panthers and your Minnesota Vikings from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. We’ll have Open Threads for each quarter, with the first one dropping approximately an hour before kickoff, so we hope to see you here then!
