Nashville being considered as future NFL Combine site

The NFL Scouting Combine usually takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, as it is this year, but the league is considering changing the venue in the years to come.

And, according to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, Nashville is one of four new locations being considered as a future site, along with Las Vegas, Phoenix and Minneapolis. Indy is trying to keep the event, also.

Former Titans president and CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, Butch Spyridon, met with the league on the city’s behalf, along with Titans senior vice president and chief external and legal affairs officer, Adolpho Birch.

“The league has decided they want to take a look at is it worth moving, they’ve invited several cities to Indy this week to look at it and of course, we raised our hand and said we’d love to tag along and take a look and hopefully have a shot at doing something with it,” Spyridon said.

“The new stadium is critical to it and it’s another example of what the new stadium opens up as new opportunities for us.”

The Titans recently broke ground on the New Nissan Stadium, which is set to open in 2027, thus Nashville getting the combine wouldn’t happen before then.

“The convenience is one of the things they are looking for because there is so much back and forth, you can’t lose a half an hour getting from one place to another,” Spyridon said. “I think that’s an advantage for Nashville.”

On top of potentially getting the combine, Nashville could have a Super Bowl in its future in the years after the new venue is built.
