Patriots activate Isaiah Wynn from Covid-19 reserve list, elevate James Ferentz from practice squad

New England hosts Dallas for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Additional reinforcements will be available for the New England Patriots’ offensive line Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

New England activated Isaiah Wynn from the Covid-19 reserve list and elevated James Ferentz from the practice squad on the eve of the Dallas Cowboys matchup, according to the NFL transaction wire.

Wynn, 25, saw his absence span six practices and one game after being moved to the list on Oct. 5. The 2018 first-round draft choice out of Georgia previously played all 265 offensive snaps through four starts at left tackle this season. Per Pro Football Focus, that sample size included three penalties, three quarterback hits and two sacks. Swing tackle Justin Herron got the call as the blindside protector in Week 5.

Ferentz, 32, started at left guard in place of Mike Onwenu last Sunday while serving as a Covid-19 replacement. He remained in for all 64 downs and allowed two total pressures. The 2014 undrafted free agent out of Iowa will now serve as a standard elevation for an interior that will be without right guard Shaq Mason due to an abdomen injury. Ferentz has played in 25 games and made five starts for the Patriots since arriving by way of the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos in 2017. The two-time Super Bowl champion is scheduled to revert on Monday.
