Memphis product Riley Patterson attended January’s Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Four specialists visited the New England Patriots for workouts on Thursday, including kickers Riley Patterson and Brett Maher, as shared by Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus.

Patterson, 22, went undrafted out of Memphis after appearing in 52 games to go 64-of-83 on field goals with a long of 56 yards. His Tigers career spanned 240 extra points and 295 kickoffs. Patterson attended the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., where he would be named the top specialist for the National squad, before signing with the Minnesota Vikings. Patterson was waived from injured reserve with a settlement in August.

Maher, 31, has been a member of eight NFL teams and three CFL teams since arriving as an undrafted free agent in 2013. The Nebraska product spent last year between the New York Jets, Washington Football Team, Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals. He most recently was in training camp with the New Orleans Saints. Through 29 career games, Maher stands 49-of-66 on field goals and 68-of-69 on extra points.

Incumbent Patriots kicker Nick Folk has been a limited participant in practice this week due to a left knee issue. Rookie Quinn Nordin, who began September on the 53-man roster, resides on injured reserve due to an abdomen issue.

New England also reported workouts with long snappers Turner Bernard and Ryan Langan on Thursday.
