The Eagles selected Nathan Gerry in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft.

The New England Patriots hosted three free agents for workouts on Tuesday, including veteran linebacker Nathan Gerry, as shared by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Gerry, 26, entered the NFL in the fifth round of the 2017 draft with the Philadelphia Eagles. Through 46 career games and 22 starts, the Nebraska product and Super Bowl LII champion has recorded 163 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, one fumble recovery and one touchdown.

After finishing last season on Philadelphia’s injured reserve, Gerry signed a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in March. He was released from the practice squad as the calendar turned to November.

Defensive end Carlo Kemp and defensive back Tae Hayes also visited Gillette Stadium for workouts.

Kemp, 23, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted rookie in May after appearing in 46 games and logging 29 starts at Michigan. A two-time Wolverines captain, Kemp totaled 21 tackles, along with three for loss, plus two sacks and one quarterback hurry as a graduate student last fall. He was waived by Green Bay at the 53-man roster deadline in August.

Hayes, 24, has been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals since going undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2019. His NFL log features 10 tackles, one fumble recovery and two passes defended over six career games. The cornerback has played 137 snaps on defense and 20 snaps on special teams.

New England’s active roster stands at capacity with quarterback Jarrett Stidham activated off physically unable to perform on Tuesday. Fullback Ben Mason, center Drake Jackson and cornerback Brian Poole have been released from the practice squad since the beginning of the week.
