New England looks to improve to 3-5 against its division rivals.

The New England Patriots snapped their recent skid against the Buffalo Bills last weekend, and will now look to put their struggles in Miami to bed against the Dolphins this Sunday. If they are able to do so, the Patriots would improve to 3-5 on the year and somehow still be alive in the race for spots in the playoff tournament.

Follow along with us live down below.

Live Score: (2-5) Patriots 17 : 31 Dolphins (5-2)

Sunday, October 29, 1 p.m. ET | Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL | Broadcast information | Inactives | Game day roster

First Quarter

The Dolphins won the coin toss and deferred, putting Mac Jones and the Patriots offense on the field first. An opening screen to Demario Douglas was sniffed out by Miami resulting in a five-yard loss, which helped set up and opening third-and-12. Jones’ third-down pass to Hunter Henry was complete but short of the sticks.

Miami’s offense started their first possession of the day on the ground, as Raheem Mostert picked up six yards. A third-down pass to Braxton Berrios then set up a fourth-and-one just by midfield, where Tagovailoa hit Jaylen Waddle up the seam for 17 yards. After a Jabrill Peppers run stuff set up a third-and-long, Tua’s pass was incomplete which led to a punt.

A play-action rollout on first-down led to an nine-yard gain to Pharaoh Brown, where Ezekiel Elliott then plunged forwards for a first-down. Back-to-back runs from Douglas and Elliott set up a third-and-four, where a pressure forced a quick check down to Rhamondre Stevenson who could not convert.

Tua’s first pass next drive was complete across the middle to Durham Smythe. New England’s defense then took over, as Christian Barmore got home for a sack before Tua’s third-down pass was intercepted by Kyle Dugger.

New England’s offense took over at the Miami 30-yard line following the interception and needed just three plays to capitalize. On third-down, Jones hit a wide open Kendrick Bourne across the middle who took it 24 yards for a score. [Patriots 7 : 0 Dolphins]

Miami’s Jeff Wilson Jr. picked up a pair of first downs on the ground to start the Dolphins next drive. Tyreek Hill then got behind New England’s defense for a 42-yard score. [Patriots 7 : 7 Dolphins]

Second Quarter

New England went backwards on their next possession, as Bourne was called for holding on a play where Jalen Ramsey forced a fumble on Elliott which rolled out of bounds. Backed up behind the sticks, the Patriots were eventually forced to punt.

The Dolphins picked up an opening first-down before Keion White blew up a pop pass for an eight-yard loss. After a quick pass to Tyreek Hill then set Miami up with a fourth-and-four, Tua kept it himself for an eight-yard conversion. Another completion to Hill then moved Miami inside the red area before Dugger got home for a second-down sack. On third-and-14, Tua’s screen to Waddle picked up 13 yards leaving the Dolphins offense on the field. A quick screen to Hill then picked up the conversion. Tua’s third-and-goal pass then fell incomplete, but J.C. Jackson was flagged for a questionable pass interference in the end zone. Two plays later, Cedrick Wilson hauled in the go ahead score. [Patriots 7 : 14 Dolphins]

Injury update: LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (hamstring) is questionable to return.

Trailing by seven, New England’s offense found some life on their next possession. Stevenson picked up an opening first-down before Jones then hit Douglas on a slant for 13 more yards. Stevenson then rumbled for 11 yards and then Jones again hit a slant to DeVante Parker for 14 yards. Just outside the red-area, Jones’ poor pass was intercepted by Jalen Ramsey.

Miami took over at New England’s 40-yard line with just under two minutes left in the half. A pass to Waddle picked up 11 before Keion White drew a hold to move the Dolphins backwards. Tua then went back to Waddle on second-and-14 who hauled the pass for 17 yards to move inside the red area. The Patriots defense then held strong as Jackson and Mills bracketed Hill on third-down, leading to a field goal. [Patriots 7 : 17 Dolphins]

With 26 seconds left in the half, Mac Jones took a knee.

Third Quarter

On the Dolphins first play of the second half, a handoff to Mostert ended up on the ground which was recovered by New England.

Injury update: LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (hamstring) has been downgraded to out.

Taking over at the Dolphins 19-yard line, New England could not fully capitalize. Jones was sacked on third-down, leading to a Chad Ryland 38-yard field goal. [Patriots 10 : 17 Dolphins]

Tua’s first pass of their next drive went for 22 yards to Tyreek Hill on an in breaker. Facing a then third-and-nine, Tua stepped up in the pocket and hit an open Waddle for 27 yards. A 15-yard completion to Chase Claypool then set the Dolphins up in the red area before a pass to Smythe went to the one-yard line. Mostert then walked in for a score on the next play. [Patriots 10 : 24 Dolphins]

Trailing by two scores, Jones hit Pharaoh Brown across the middle off play-action for a 24-yard gain. After a run stuff and incompletion to Parker, Jones’ third-down pass to Jalen Reagor fell to the turf.

Injury update: WR DeVante Parker (head) is out.

Bryce Baringer’s punt set up Miami inside the five-yard line, but the Dolphins were still able to pick up an opening first-down. Then backed up due to a hold, the Dolphins picked up a third-and-13 on a screen. The play was originally wiped out due to an illegal man downfield penalty, but the flag was picked up. On a third-and-six, Tua’s pass was knocked down by Jahlani Tavai forcing a punt.

Fourth Quarter

Back with the ball, Jones was sacked on first-down before hitting Mike Gesicki for six yards. Set up in third-and-nine, a pass was complete to Kendrick Bourne but was short of the sticks. Bourne was shaken up on the play as Baringer then punted back to Miami.

Two straight incompletions to open Miami’s next drive set up a third-and-10, where Tua was met by Tavai short of a first-down.

Injury update: WR Kendrick Bourne (knee) is out.

Ezekiel Elliott picked up 22 combined yards on two opening carries, then Jones hit Hunter Henry off play-action for 16 more yards. After an ineligible man downfield call, Jones hit Douglas on the juke route for 12 yards which set up Elliott to convert another first-down. Two straight completions to Henry and Stevenson then moved the ball inside the red-area, where Stevenson then took on tacklers down to the three-yard line. Two incompletions and a run stuff set up fourth-and-goal, where Jones hit JuJu Smith-Schuster off motion for an easy score. [Patriots 17 : 24 Dolphins]

Now up just one score with 8:30 remaining, Mostert picked up one first-down before Miami faced a third-and-nine. With Tua in empty, his completion to Hill was just enough for a conversion. Shortly after, Tua connected with a wide open Waddle for a 31-yard score to put the game on ice. [Patriots 17 : 31 Dolphins]
