While the Las Vegas Raiders focus on the general-manager search, the leading candidate to become their full-time head coach is getting more interest around the league.
NFL media reported Sunday morning that Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce will interview for the coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons. He interviews with the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.
One more for Antonio Pierce: The #Falcons have requested permission to interview him for their head-coaching job, sources say. Pierce interviewed for the #Titans’ gig yesterday. The #Raiders have not conducted any known HC interviews to this point.

There has been several reports that tab Pierce, who went 5-4 as the Raiders’ interim coach, is the heavy favorite to be hired in Las Vegas. But for now, he has three times interested. There are currently four other head-coaching jobs open: The Chargers, Panthers, Commanders and Seahawks.
Pierce has the full support of the roster and Saturday star defensive end Maxx Crosby followed up a Silver and Black Pride report that, indeed, he would be open to asking for a trade if Pierce isn’t hired.
Falcons have requested permission to interview Antonio Pierce for head coaching position, as @MikeGarafolo tweeted. Pierce interviewed with Titans yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Athletic reported the Raiders ended their general-manger interviews Saturday. It is not known if there will be a second round of interviews. The six known candidates are Raiders’ interim GM Champ Kelly, Trey Brown of Cincinnati, Terrance Gray of Buffalo, Ed Dobbs of Indianapolis, Kelly Kleine Van Calligan of Denver and former Chargers GM Tom Telesco.
Kelly, like Pierce, is considered the favorite for the job. He also interviewed in Carolina.
The Raiders are inching toward a decision on their two huge openings, but they may have competition for both Pierce and Kelly.
