The 2021 season has not started off as fans of the Seattle Seahawks had hoped, with a pair of September losses leaving the team in last place in the NFC West heading into the Week 4 game against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday. In particular, injuries have hit the team hard at certain positions, including wide receiver and tight end, where Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, Dee Eskridge, Gerald Everett and Colby Parkinson have all missed time or found themselves on injured reserve already this season.

However, with the Hawks likely to be without Everett, added in free agency to be a dangerous move tight end in Shane Waldron’s offence, the Hawks will have the benefit of the services of 2020 fourth round pick end Colby Parkinson and Cedric Ogbuehi, both of whom were activated from injured reserve.

So, it’s likely that Will Dissly will get the start with Everett unavailable, and Tyler Mabry could see some snaps. But, it won’t be a surprise if Parkinson significantly increases his 51 career snaps played Sunday against the Niners.

Seattle had an open spot on the roster after Gerald Everett was moved to the COVID IR list this week, so only needed to create one extra spot on the roster. The team created that spot by moving running back Rashaad Penny to injured reserve, meaning Penny will not be eligible to play until the Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints.
