Star is attempting to be the first player to play after a doubtful status
The Las Vegas Raiders are gearing up to take on the Kansas City Chiefs at home. It will be a chance to get back into the playoff hunt by beating a division rival and returning to 500.
The defense has been overachieving all season, ranking 13th in EPA per play and excelling at playing the pass. A player who is the heart and soul of the defense is Maxx Crosby. PFF says he has 10.5 sacks on the season and leads the league in pressures.
A concern going into the week is Crosby’s health. Crosby has a knee issue that left him doubtful after Friday’s practice. Most thought he wouldn’t have a chance to play on Sunday.
However, Crosby is fighting through his attempts to play. Ian Rapport of NFL.com reported Saturday Night that the former fourth-round pick will be the first player to suit up after a doubtful designation.
Against all odds, #Raiders Pro Bowl edge Maxx Crosby is pushing to play against the #Chiefs and there is a realistic chance he makes it happen, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Crosby is listed as doubtful with a knee injury. He’d be the first “doubtful” player to go this season. pic.twitter.com/fIRcdOhgzU

It would be remarkable if Crosby displayed his toughness on the field. It could spark the locker room to have their leader battling through injury.
