The Tennessee Titans made a flurry of roster cuts on Wednesday, one of which reportedly includes linebacker Zach Cunningham.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Titans are releasing the veteran linebacker as expected, a move that will save the team nearly $9 million in cap space in 2023.

Cunningham was brought in via waivers in 2021 and made an immediate impact on the defense. However, he was slowed by injuries in 2022 and wasn’t as effective when on the field.

With Cunningham now gone, the Titans are staring down the barrel of possibly having two new starters at inside linebacker next season, as linebacker David Long is set to hit free agency.

Cunningham is the fourth cut the Titans made on Wednesday, along with left tackle Taylor Lewan, kicker Randy Bullock and wide receiver Robert Woods. With the four cuts, Tennessee is now $12.4 million under the salary cap, according to Over the Cap.
