The Tennessee Titans have made their second pick in the 2024 NFL draft, with the team selecting Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat with the No. 38 overall pick in the second round.

The Titans desperately needed help along the defensive line, which was one of the team’s weakest position groups going into the draft. Sweat should provide exactly what Tennessee needs.

At 6-foot-4 and 366 pounds, Sweat is a massive presence up the middle who is dominant against the run and is an ideal fit as both a nose tackle in a 3-4 defense or as a defensive tackle in a 4-3. Either way, Titans fans should be licking their chops at the thought of him playing next to Jeffery Simmons.

While Sweat might sound like former Titans defensive lineman Teair Tart, he offers much more as a pass-rusher, which should lead to him being a three-down lineman at the next level.

The talent is certainly there with Sweat, but there is no shortage of concerns about his off-the-field life. Sweat is known to party and was even arrested for DWI earlier this month. That was expected to lead to Sweat falling in the draft, but clearly the Titans feel comfortable enough with his situation to take him in this spot.

Here’s the best reactions from Twitter.
