Titans’ Mike Vrabel on Tom Brady’s retirement: ‘This league will miss him’

Future Hall of Famer and former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady decided to hang up his cleats and announced his retirement earlier this week.

For the first time since Brady’s announcement, his good friend and former Patriots teammate of eight seasons, current Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, reacted to the news, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online:

“The one thing we’ve always said is that the definition of success is about the consistent longevity at a high level,” Vrabel said. “And he certainly did it at a high level for a lot of years, and this league will miss him. But there’s quarterbacks and players that will come along. We always say there will never be another so and so, but sometimes, most of the time, there usually is.”

During their eight seasons together, Brady and Vrabel won three Super Bowls in New England and became close friends, which they still are to this day.

Tennessee saw a lot of Brady in his last few seasons in the league.

Not only did the Titans defeat the Patriots in the 2019 playoffs, ending the Brady era in New England, but the Titans also held joint practices with the Pats and Bucs in two of the last three years.

While we’ll miss the trolling that goes on between Brady and Vrabel, we won’t miss the legendary quarterback’s dominance that has made him arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
