Titans RB Tyjae Spears’ highlights from 2023 season

When the Tennessee Titans drafted running back Tyjae Spears in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft, it’s safe to say the vast majority of the fan base was scratching its head.

After all, the Titans had a desperate need for wide receiver help at that point in the draft and were set to take a running back in the middle rounds for the second straight year despite having a workhorse back in Derrick Henry.

But those frustrations were quickly put to bed when Spears began showing out in the preseason and, eventually, during the regular season, where he managed to put together a solid rookie campaign.

“For lack of a better way to put it, he’s made of the right s—,” Titans general manager Ran Carthon said of Spears on Tuesday.

Clearly, the Titans are high on Spears and after what he showed in Year 1, the Tulane product is fully expected to take on a bigger role, even if Henry returns.
