Tennessee Titans tight ends coach Tony Dews was one of the candidates for the New York Giants’ running backs coach vacancy, but he did not end up getting the job.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Giants have hired New Orleans Saints running backs coach Joel Thomas instead.

Dews served as the Titans’ running backs coach from 2018 through 2022 before being moved to tight ends coach in 2023.

Before joining the Titans in 2018, Dews spent two decades in the college coaching ranks, working with tight ends, running backs, wide receivers, offensive linemen and defensive linemen.

Dews is one of three Titans coaches to receive interviews for vacancies around the league.

Titans cornerbacks coach and defensive pass-game coordinator Chris Harris was scheduled to interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive coordinator vacancy on Tuesday.

In addition, defensive coordinator Shane Bowen was slated to meet with the Jags and Giants for their defensive coordinator openings some time this week.
