During the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon made it clear that the team would add another player to its quarterbacks room at some point this offseason.

Well, the Titans did just that on Wednesday, with the team agreeing to terms with former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Mason Rudolph. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Titans are giving the Oklahoma State product a one-year deal worth up to $3.62 million.

Considering the current state of the backup quarterback situation behind Will Levis, this is a good signing. Tennessee simply cannot depend on the woefully disappointing Malik Willis, who has shown no signs of being even an adequate backup quarterback over two seasons.

As things stand now, Rudolph should certainly be considered the favorite to beat out Willis for the backup job. The Liberty product will have had to take a massive leap this offseason to beat out a fellow former third-round pick.

Here’s how Titans Twitter reacted to the news.
