The Seattle Seahawks are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in a Week 4 matchup, and whichever of the two teams loses will be in last place in the NFC West. That, of course, means that the Hawks have the opportunity to climb out of last place in the division with a win. On the flip side, a loss would drop them two games behind the Niners and three games behind the winner of the divisional showdown between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams.

In any case, when the Seahawks take the field, they will be facing a talented San Francisco defensive line without starting right tackle Brandon Shell, and could be without one, possibly two, of their key wide receivers.

Rashaad Penny’s absence is no surprise, as head coach Pete Carroll stated earlier this week the team would keep him out in order to make sure he is fully healthy when he returns, presumably for the Week 5 game against the Rams. Tyler Lockett is questionable with a hip injury, but based on Carroll’s meeting with the meeting on Friday, he is expected by most observers to play. Dee Eskridge is still recovering from the concussion suffered in the Week 1 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Gerald Everett carries no injury designation, as he is on the COVID reserve list, and would need to be activated to the 53 man roster prior to the game in order to be able to play. In addition, Colby Parkinson, who returned to practice this week, is making a strong push to play Sunday, and could take a good number of Everett’s snaps.

However, in order for that to happen the team would need to activate him from injured reserve prior to 4 PM New York Time on Saturday.
