Yes, again

A couple of days after their Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings placed second-year cornerback Harrison Hand on their reserve/COVID-19 list.

On Tuesday, they did it again.

Yes, the team has announced that Hand has once again been placed on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list. This could place his status for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium in jeopardy.

Hand was first placed on the COVID-19 list by the Vikings back on 22 September. However, by the time the final injury reports for the game against the Seattle Seahawks came out on 24 September, Hand was off the COVID list, though he still missed the Seattle game with a hamstring issue.

I believe that we can extrapolate from this with a fair amount of certainty that Hand is fully vaccinated, as fully vaccinated players that test positive can return to practice if they produce two negative tests within 24 hours. We’ll have to see if Hand is back practicing with the team in a few days here.

This news makes Hand the second member of the Vikings’ cornerback room to be placed on the COVID-19 list this week, as the team put Hand’s 2020 draft classmate Cameron Dantzler on the list yesterday.

We’ll be keeping an eye on Harrison Hand’s situation, as he’s officially been placed on the COVID-19 list by the Vikings for the second time in three weeks.
