And they’ll give up a home game to do it

The 2024 NFL season will be the fourth since the advent of the 17-game schedule, and the Minnesota Vikings are slated to have nine home games in the upcoming season.

Make that eight. . .unless you consider the place that the real-life Vikings conquered back in the eighth century to be home.

The team has announced that they are one of three teams that have been designated to host a “home” game in London during the 2024 NFL season. The team will return once again to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where they faced off against the New Orleans Saints in 2022 as the road team. The Vikings emerged with a 28-25 victory in that contest.

This will be the fourth regular-season contest that the Vikings have played in the United Kingdom. They defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley Stadium in 2013, 34-27, and the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham Stadium in 2017, 33-16, in 2017, in addition to their victory over the Saints in 2024.

The opponent that the Vikings fans in London will be one of the following teams:

  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • New York Jets

I’m sure that there are quite a number of folks that aren’t pleased about the Vikings having to give up a home game in order to travel to the United Kingdom again, but I guess it’s something that teams are expected to do occasionally.

What do you think about the Vikings returning overseas again in 2024, folks?
