Who’s injured heading into Week 5?

For the first time this season, Washington has a bigger injury report than their opponent, and it’s not even close. They went to Atlanta as one of the healthiest teams in the league, and they were getting back their unhealthiest player(Curtis Samuel). They left with 3 players going to IR and 12 players on this week’s report. A few of them are lingering injuries, including Samuel’s groin issue.

Jon Bostic(pec) and Torry McTyer(ACL) were placed on injured reserve on yesterday, and Logan Thomas was added to the list today. All 3 were injured on Sunday, but only Thomas is projected to return this season. This has caused a lot of roster churn, and there will probably be more moves coming as Washington looks to stay competitive in the NFC East.

Six players didn’t practice today including Samuel and two other WRs(Dyami Brown, Cam Sims). Antonio Gibson got the day off with the shin injury he’s had for the last 2 weeks. Cole Holcomb had a great game in Atlanta, but he also left the game briefly with a shoulder injury that he’s still dealing with. Brandon Scherff didn’t practice today, and is reportedly dealing with a sprained MCL that could keep him off the field for 2-3 weeks.

Another 6 players were limited including Matt Ioannidis(knee) who played on Sunday and Benjamin St-Juste(concussion) who didn’t. Both were on the injury report last week. Jonathan Allen(knee), Deshazor Everett(knee), J.D. McKissic(ankle), and James Smith-Williams(toe) are all new additions.
