As the national media descends upon Detroit, we’re starting to see some breathtaking images of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 2024 NFL Draft is now about 48 hours away, and as the national media starts to descend upon Detroit, we’re starting to get our first look at what the stage will actually look like in the middle of Campus Martius.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero gave a nice look of inside the hangar, offering a familiar look of the NFL Draft stage:

For a little more perspective on how it looks placed in the middle of Detroit, NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy took a overlooking photo during a rainy Tuesday afternoon:

And another set of photos: one from the podium looking out at Detroit, and another on the ground looking toward the podium:

Other behind-the-scenes options include a Freep.com video of the space and green room, and a photo gallery from the Detroit News.

For now, the area is still gated off to the public. So if you find yourself downtown, you won’t be able to get some of these breathtaking views. That said, it’s still probably worth walking around Campus Martius to see the buzz around the city. I know I’m going to swing by there one or two more times over the next few days.

Of course, being in Detroit does come with some hardships. Just ask ESPN insider and birthday boy Field Yates:

  • MLive’s Kyle Meinke submitted his final Lions mock for 2024, and the pick is…. and offensive lineman.

  • Pretty neat story here about the youth football players who will help present the Lions’ first-round pick:

  • Just an incredible interaction between Jared Goff and Lions director of security Elton Moore, who is retiring next month:

  • Speaking of Goff, he presented a $50,000 check to Give Merit—a non-profit that works to improve the graduation rate in Detroit.

  • This is a pretty cool resource for the weekend: The Athletic put together a top-50 big board specifically designed for the Lions.

  • Lions Wire’s Jeff Risdon has a seven-round “What I would do” mock draft that lands Detroit a CB, OL and WR in the first three picks.
