Aaron Rodgers sends message to NY Jets fans on ‘McAfee’

In his weekly “Pat McAfee Show” appearance, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers sent some clear messages to fans and teammates

Aaron Rodgers is not exactly thrilled with the latest developments surrounding his team.

During his weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” the New York Jets’ veteran quarterback spoke about the environment surrounding the team and gave his thoughts on their most recent performance.

“I think we need to hold our poise a little bit better, really just offensively. We need to not have those things happen on the sideline and to be a little better and to be a little better competitors. We need to understand this is part of it. It’s not always going to be pretty,” said Rodgers.

Rodgers added, “There’s been too many little side conversations, and we just need to grow up a little bit on offense and lock in and do our jobs.”

The quarterback also said, “I feel like if I were there, some of those things wouldn’t be happening,” when referencing the issues with the team.

Later in the conversation, Rodgers spoke on Joe Namath’s comments made on “The Michael Kay Show”. He specifically called out the Jets’ fanbase and former players for “not helping the cause.”

“Our toughest task is going to be handling success. And that’s whether we’re having success or not having success. That doesn’t mean you are winning all the time, and you have to handle it the right way. … It’s when we are not having success, how do we respond? How do we respond to adversity? And that goes for our fanbase and former players as well. You’re not helping the cause.”

When asked about the potential for retirement, the future Hall-of-Famer said, “I’m not ready to find something else to do on my Sundays, and I still love it,” and that this past weekend “confirmed” his desire to return to the field.

Rodgers’s leadership has been evidently missing from the team since his exit. Not only was Rodgers a significant upgrade for the quarterback position, but he was also an important leader who would help stabilize the locker room.

Until Rodgers can return to the facility, the Jets need to take his words to heart and get things back on track, both on and off the field.
