Jets-Eagles game registers incredible viewership numbers

Listed as “America’s Game of the Week” for Week 6, the New York Jets-Philadelphia Eagles matchup was the most-watched TV show since the Super Bowl.

The New York Jets seem to be very popular these days.

Only two weeks after having their matchup against the Chiefs register record-high ratings, the Jets-Eagles matchup performed even better. According to Front Office Sports, Sunday’s game generated 26.09 million viewers, making it the most-watched TV show since the Super Bowl.

More people watched Jets-Eagles than any other show on any other network since the Super Bowl.

The game passed two other Jets games this season (Week 1 vs. Buffalo and Week 4 vs. Kansas City), giving the Jets the top three highest-viewed games of the entire NFL season. The Jets commemorated this with a post on X.

Multiple factors could have influenced the numbers for these games. Anticipation surrounded Aaron Rodgers’s debut in Week 1 against the Bills. The Chiefs game had the allure of Taylor Swift being in attendance, while the Eagles have one of the league’s best fanbases in the NFL.

Still, that should not take away from the fact that the Jets have been a considerable draw this season. They partook in two of the most entertaining primetime games this season and arguably one of the best games on this past Sunday’s slate.

There are numerous storylines and plenty of hype surrounding the Jets in any given week. Whether it is the defense playing at an elite level or the questions surrounding the offense, the Jets are never non-entertaining. Add the fact that the Jets have been relatively successful this season, and there is a perfect storm of entertainment and excitement.

The Jets have some more entertaining matchups coming up as they move into their post-bye week schedule, including two more nationally televised games over their next three contests. With performances like they had Sunday, their viewership numbers may only continue to increase as time goes on.
