Even on a not-so-smooth day in Week 1, the Jacksonville Jaguars were a touchdown machine against the Indianapolis Colts as Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones, Travis Etienne Jr., and Tank Bigsby all found the end zone.

Then the team had a brutal day offensively against the Kansas City Chiefs, finishing with zero touchdowns. Don’t expect that continue in Week 3, though. With a rebuilding Houston Texans coming to EverBank Stadium with a banged up secondary, the Jaguars should have plenty of opportunities to light up the scoreboard.

One of the most popular ways to bet on an NFL game is the anytime touchdown scorer prop. You bet on one player to score a touchdown, and if they do, you make money.

Sounds simple, right?

It’s not as easy as it seems, but it is rewarding when the player you bet does find the end zone – especially if he plays for your team

With the Jaguars facing the Texans on Sunday, we’ve highlighted one player you should bet to score a touchdown this week. Odds are courtesy of BetMGM.

Evan Engram anytime TD scorer: +170

It took some time for Engram to find a rhythm with Trevor Lawrence in 2022. The former Giants tight end averaged 32.4 yards through his first 11 games with the Jaguars and scored only one touchdown. But in the last eight games of 2022 — including the two playoff games — Engram scored four touchdowns and averaged 66.8 yards per game.

That connection has carried into 2023 with Engram recording 11 receptions for 106 yards through the first two games. While he hasn’t scored yet, that could easily change Sunday.

With linebacker Denzel Perryman and defensive backs Jalen Pitre, Derek Stingley Jr., and Tavierre Thomas all out of action, the middle of the field could be especially vulnerable. That could mean big things for Christian Kirk in the open field and Evan Engram in the red zone.
