Green Bay’s full rookie class is now under contract for 2021.

Approximately three months after the 2021 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers finally have their entire draft class under contract. On Friday, the Packers signed wide receiver Amari Rodgers to his rookie contract, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, bringing him into the fold officially just before the start of training camp.

Rodgers was the Packers’ third-round draft pick at #85 overall, putting him in an odd position from a negotiation standpoint. The third round has historically been a minefield for negotiations, as players drafted in that round typically end up taking longer to sign contracts than those drafted elsewhere. That delay was exacerbated this year by the Houston Texans, as Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated wrote last month, who signed 89th overall pick Nico Collins to the maximum amount of “additional compensation” for his draft slot.

While we do not yet know the total final value of Rodgers’ deal, it will be a standard four-year contract and will likely contain some of that added compensation in the form of workout bonuses. The Packers have traditionally included workout bonuses in their third-rounders’ contracts in the past, as Oren Burks, Jace Sternberger, and Josiah Deguara all have them in their deals.

This contract also makes Rodgers one of only three wide receivers on the team signed beyond 2021, joining undrafted rookies Bailey Gaither and Chris Blair.
