The Panthers add some much needed depth at the CB position.

The Panthers added some additional reinforcements in the secondary in former Seahawks, Jaguars, and most recently Texans cornerback Shaquill Griffin on Thursday.

Griffin is another veteran cornerback for the Panthers, who have spent all season adding valuable depth at opportune moments in the secondary as they fight the injury bug there. Griffin has 78 career starts, most notably with the Seattle Seahawks early in his career as an every game starter when healthy. The last three seasons were spent with Jacksonville for 2 years and this season started with the Texans. He has 7 interceptions and 63 pass deflections during that span.

The move makes sense, after they placed Dicaprio Bootle on injured/reserve, who had been impressive up to that point in limited action. The Panthers could be receiving additional reinforcements in Jaycee Horn and CJ Henderson this week, though Horn isn’t a guarantee as the window is closing on him playing this year. He needs to be activated after the Panthers brought him back from IR 12 days ago and he still hasn’t logged a full practice as of this writing, meaning they have 9 days to make that decision.

What are your thoughts, Panthers fans?
