Sporting a slick ski mask prior to Saturday night’s preseason outing, Carolina Panthers receiver Robby Anderson may have been walking into Bank of America Stadium looking for the bag. Well, he found it.

On Tuesday afternoon, the team officially announced a contract extension with the 28-year-old wideout. The deal will keep Anderson with the Panthers through the 2023 season at $29.5 million ($20.5 million guaranteed) over the pair of seasons.

Following four campaigns with the New York Jets, the 2016 undrafted free agent made his first splash as a veteran free agent last offseason, signing off to Carolina on a two-year, $20 million contract. He’d subsequently turn in a career season in 2020, hitting highs in receptions (95), yards (1,096) and catch rate (69.9 percent).

Rumblings of the deal were first brought up last week by general manager Scott Fitterer, who did not disclose Anderson’s name while hinting at the extension. A few days later, Joseph Person of The Athletic released the initial report that the conversations were, indeed, with Anderson.
