On Saturday night, new wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson accounted as the fifth staffing hire over the past two days for the Carolina Panthers. But none of those five were nearly as surprising as No. 6.

Just minutes later, they’d announce the addition of DeAngelo Hall—who will serve as an assistant defensive back coach. This’ll be the former three-time Pro Bowler’s first career coaching job, as he’s spent the last handful of years in the television studio.
