“Why are any of us still here?” We ask, again and again.

Fan confidence in the Carolina Panthers has tripled week-over-week, yielding the kind of returns that hedge fund manager David Tepper must be used to. That’s right folks, fans of the Carolina Panthers who responded to this week’s confidence survey on our lovely site said they were confident in the direction of the Panthers franchise at a rate of 6%. That’s a whopping three-times higher than last week’s 2% off fans.

We’ll see how well that number holds after Ben Johnson formally cancels his interview with the Panthers. I kid. Probably.

In other questions, we decided to ask y’all if you think that Tepper is as meddlesome as his current reputation suggests.

96% of you seem to think that he meddles too much in football decisions.

Tepper was reported this season as texting assistant coaches behind former head coach Frank Reich’s back and in trying to insert plays into gameplans that he saw other teams run. He has also fired three full-time head coaches midseason in his six years of ownership.

That has led to discussion, possibly even within Bank of America Stadium, about the possibility of the creation of a vice-president of football operations type of role that would sit on the organizational chart between the general manager and the owner to provide some insulation for the football people from the ownership people.

93% of y’all think the creation of another high paying job in Charlotte would be a great idea. That’s fine. That makes some sense on the face of it.

What interests me, though, is that at least 3% of y’all think that Tepper meddles too much but should not hire somebody to insulate him from the coach and general manager. What, he should do nothing and keep meddling? He should just grow as a person? Either of these are big asks from a fan who assumes that Tepper sees himself as the Scooby Gang in Panthers lore. Who are you? Come tell us in the comments below.
