Confidence explodes for Panthers fans during their one-game winning streak

Winning really does cure all with y’all apparently. The 1-6 Carolina Panthers are back to near pre-season levels of confidence in the direction of this team off the strength of the team’s first win. Nevermind that win coming nearly half way through the season or in spite of the teams less-than-stellar rushing and red zone performances.

A whopping 63% of y’all are now confident the team is headed in the right direction. That is almost double the 32% who were confident before the win. For those of you keeping track at home, the transition to Thomas Brown as play caller raised the confidence level from 19% of fans to 32% and the win from 32% to 63%.

If my math is anywhere near correct then that means a second win will leave 115% of fans confident in the Panthers’ direction. A loss, meanwhile, could have an incalculable negative impact on the fan psyche. Fortunately for the perfect predicting powers of our fan base, an overwhelming majority of you think the Panthers will double their current winning streak. That’s right, y’all are calling for an unstoppable 2-7 team entering Week 10.

With 70% of you predicting a win against a very beatable Gardner Minshew-led Indianapolis Colts team, what could go wrong?

All joking aside, there may be something to this swelling of confidence. Frank Reich’s teams are notoriously slow starters, but they do tend to start winning once they get their act together.
