Dan Morgan pounded the table for Dane Jackson once again.

As first reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Wednesday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with former Buffalo Bills cornerback Dane Jackson. The pact, per Pelissero, is a two-year deal worth up to $14.5 million.

Buffalo selected Jackson in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft, a move pushed by Morgan—the current Panthers president of football operations/general manager and former Bills director of player personnel. The Coraopolis, Penn. native and University of Pittsburgh product notched 28 starts over 52 games from 2020 to 2023—amassing 152 combined tackles, three interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound corner has played most of his ball from the outside—as he’s recorded 1,760 snaps from the boundary and just 33 from the slot. He earned a 71.6 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus this past season, which stands as the highest such mark of his career.

Jackson’s deal comes less than 24 hours after the Panthers traded No. 2 cornerback Donte Jackson to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for wideout Diontae Johnson.
