The Carolina Panthers may not be done adding to their offensive trench.

According to Ryan Fowler of Bleacher Report, the team has hosted a visit for University of Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson. Per Fowler, the 6-foot-3, 328-pounder has also met with the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Powers-Johnson is widely-regarded as the No. 1 center prospect of the 2024 NFL draft. The 2023 first-team All-Pac 12 member and unanimous All-American is expected to be taken anywhere from the middle of the first round to the very early stages of the second.

After signing guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis in free agency, the Panthers are expected to move Austin Corbett to the middle of the line. Head coach Dave Canales talked about the switch at the Annual League Meeting

“Well, it’s a specific role for a guy who’s a leader,” Canales said, via Darin Gantt of Panthers.com. “You can get away with it when a guy isn’t vocal; you can get away with it when a guy isn’t like the true alpha type of personality. You can get away with that, but you really would love your center to be like the middle linebacker and be the quarterback of the offensive line. And Corbs is that.”

If he’s not, Powers-Johnson could very well be.
