Panthers’ ticket price increase for 2024 is not as bad as you may think

Sure, the optics of this aren’t great.

The Carolina Panthers, who just finished at an NFL-worst 2-15 record and haven’t had a winning season in six years, are planning to increase their ticket prices for the 2024 campaign. And we’ll admit it—we didn’t exactly help in smoothing the news over ourselves.

But it turns out that the rising costs probably aren’t as ghastly, offensive and pearl-clutching as many of us may have believed.

As noted by the Panthers themselves, they are far from the only franchise that’ll be hiking up the numbers. Their research, per Alex Zietlow of The Charlotte Observer, indicates that 26 of the 28 teams who have reported their pricing information will be increasing their costs for 2024.

Additionally, Carolina’s overall blended average ticket price for PSL owners will be up by “just over 4 [percent].” That’s not too shabby when you consider only a few of the other easy-to-find average increases for season-ticket holders across the league:

• Buffalo Bills: 10 percent
• Chicago Bears: 8 percent
• Denver Broncos: 7.9 percent
• Detroit Lions: 36 percent

The Panthers’ research also shows that their increases will be amongst the lowest in the NFL.
