Patriots to hold joint practices with Eagles in mid-August

The New England Patriots and the Philadelphia will practice alongside each other ahead of their preseason meeting next month. The two clubs officially announced those joint training camp sessions on Tuesday morning: the practices will take place on August 16 and August 17 with the game itself being played in Philadelphia two days later, on August 19.

The Patriots are no strangers to these joint sessions. While they were not able to hold any last year — the Coronavirus pandemic ended any plans the team had made with the Detroit Lions — they cooperated with the Lions and Tennessee Titans in the summer of 2019.

This year, they will team up with the Eagles and the New York Giants ahead of their preseason finale one week later.

As for the Eagles, they have a comparatively long history of jointly working alongside the Patriots. The two organizations joined forces in 2014, when the 11-time NFC East champions came to Foxborough for a series of practices. One year before those, the Patriots traveled to Philadelphia for joint sessions and a preseason contest.

Before meeting the Eagles, the Patriots will already have played one preseason game against the Washington Football Team. That exhibition contest will take place at Gillette Stadium on August 12 (7:30 pm).

The game against Philadelphia will be played a week later (8/19, 7:30 pm), with the season finale in New York taking place on August 29 (7:30 pm).
